Application process

Full Licence Application Process

For those wishing to apply for a fixed telecommunications licence in Guernsey, OUR document 02/09R sets out the procedures for applying for a licence to provide telecommunications services or to establish, operate and maintain a telecommunications network in the Bailiwick of Guernsey. It briefly outlines those services that require a licence and provides references to more detailed information documents to assist interested parties in considering whether or not they require a licence.

Those who wish to supply commercial radio communications services in Guernsey need first to apply to the Guernsey Competition & Regulatory Authority which will consider the application and whether there is a need to either consult or sometimes, depending on consideration of responses to the consultation and other evidence arising, to hold a competitive award for spectrum.  The Guernsey Competition & Regulatory Authority will then make any recommendations for spectrum licensing to Ofcom.

Further information is available on our Spectrum & Numbering web page which can be found here: https://www.gcra.gg/business-resources/telecoms/spectrum-numbering/.
